When
dining Thai style there are no particular rules regarding
the time to eat or what should be eaten when! This
makes dining Thai style delightful ly relaxing. Generally
Thai food is not served as separate courses, all the
dishes are served at the same time so that guests
can choose from a wide range of different tastes and
textures, therefore dishes are not eaten in any particular
order.
When
putting Thai menu together, variety is what counts,
with the ingredients being as varied as possible, generally
the larger the range of dishes and the more varied the
choice the better. Generally a typical Thai meal would
consist of a soup, curry, a fried dish, a steamed dish,
salad, sauces and dips, with rice for everyone. Spoil
your guests with variety and above all add 'sanuk',
or fun to yur meal!
Eating
is Thailand is regarded as one of life's greatest
pleasures,
the more people there is gathered around the table
the better it is. As a rule of thumb you should
serve the same
number of dishes as there are people round the table,
so the suggested dishes here are as part of a meal
and
are not described as 'suitable for 2/4 people etc.,'
- but it is generally accepted that should you
be unfortunate
enough to have to eat alone, one of these dishes would
be a substantial 'snack' for one.
